Misery

I love Spring but I do not like the wacky weather that comes with it.
One day it will be beautiful and 70 degrees and then the next it will
be snowing. Problems.

In top of it all I currently have the worst allergies I've had in my
life. I seriously can't even breathe through my nose. I'm so over it.

I wish it could just be summer all the time.

X-tina's guide to dating

1. be approachable

4. don't cross you arms
5. smile some more...show off your work
6. go to church
7. all 3 hours
8. and activities
9. singles ward not a family ward...dating a 12 year old is awkward

These are a few of my favorite things

It's no surprise that I like to buy stuff. These are a few of the
things that I've purchased recently and I suggest you go buy them too.

"I want my hair to look like Quinn's on Glee"

I am a fan of bullet point blog posts. I know some people do not like this type of blogging, but it's easy. And, you don't really have to commit to one topic (we all know commitment is not my strong suit). So without further ado I give you the thoughts in my head:

-The weather needs to make up it's d*amn mind. Seriously. I have to check the weather app on my phone before I get dressed every morning. Problems.

-My life coach gives good advice. I've asked her and her executive assistant to write me a guide on dating. If she follows through with it, I'll post it on here. Two things she tells me: don't bring a big purse and don't fold your arms all of the time. Noted.

-I worked till almost 9 tonight. Struggs. Luckily yesterday was Secretary's day and my boss brought us all in a nice treat.

-I've been listening to the Dean Martin station on Pandora. I love Dean Martin, his voice is just magical. This song may be my favorite song 'ever'. It's also the title of my fav movie; I listen to the soundtrack all of the time.

-I'm starting to get allergies. Very unluxury.

-I call Shacklyn and tell her to come visit me and she never comes. Whatever to her.

-I think I shall have a tea party with Shlack tomorrow afternoon. Fancy.

-I'm pretty much over to Facebook.

-I have an obsession with ironing. I think that it is professional to iron things. Sometimes I even iron my pajamas. Yeah.

-Have you heard the story about Camille hitting a bus full of handicapped children? Good times.

-I get to sleep in tomorrow morning! Yahoo!

Happy Birthday

Yesterday this gentleman turned 5. He is hands down the cutest sugar
muffin I have ever met. I hope my boys are as cute, cuddly and funny
as Gavin Basker.

Fancy

Shacklyn is coming home today for a little visit before ahe heads back
down to California for the summer. Since she wasn't here on here
actual birthday, we are going to have a small party tonight. I made
her this pink Barbie cake. I know you're all jealous.

Motto

I just got this email forward from a friend. It reminds me of a saying
that our dad told us when we were little: "We don't cuss, smoke, drink
or chew and we don't date the boys that do". Words to live by.

Adventures in Piracy

I just took the boys to dinner at Pieate Island. Cameo and The Gabes tagged along. It is harder to entertain boys than it is girls. I just don't get why they can't be happy shopping for the day (haha).

Ok, but seriously our server talked like a pirate the 'whole' time. Weird. And he kept calling me 'love'. I was like why you so obsessed with me?

I don't think I will be frequenting Pirate Island, but next time my suga-muffin (aka Mr. Basker) comes to town we will definitely have to go.

Sleep tight.

After a long day, there are certain things that never fail to put a smile on my face.

-Eye cream (cause it's never too early to start thinking about wrinkles)

-Loads of Cotton Candy chapstick

-Yummy smelling candles

-Cozy pajamas

-An ice cold glass of water

-Lavender scented pillow spray

-Peppermint scented hand lotion

-My Genius playlist based on this song

-My Hello Kitty alarm clock/night light

-Finally laying down my tired bones in the sea of pillows that I call my bed.

Nighty night.

Glee

I'm excited for Glee to come back this week!

Sue Sylvester cracks me up. Her one-liners get me every time:
- "Long list of things you are no good at: your marriage, leading glee club and finding a hairstylist that doesn't make you look like a lesbian."
- "All I want is just one day a year when I'm not visually assaulted by uglies and fatties."
- "While they were in there, I told them to go ahead and yank out those tear ducts. Wasn't using them."
-"You are about to board the Sue Sylvester express....... destination HORROR."
-"You think this was hard? Try auditioning for Baywatch and being told they're going in another direction. That was hard."
- "[Ramps] are what I call lazy-makers. They discourage able-bodied students from getting proper exercise by using the stairs."
- "I, for one, think intimacy has no place in a marriage. Walked in on my parents once and it was like seeing two walruses wrestling."
- "I like minorities so much, I'm thinking of moving to California to become one."
- "It feels good to finally pop that zit known as Will Schuester."
- "I don't trust a man with curly hair. I can't help but picture little birds laying sulfurous eggs in there, and it disgusts me."
- "I'll often yell at homeless people: 'Hey, how is that homelessness working out for you? Try not being homeless for once.'"
- "Not everyone is gonna have the walnuts to take a pro-littering stance. But I will not rest until every inch of our fair state is covered in garbage."
- "I'm going to ask you to smell your armpits. That's the smell of failure, and it's stinking up my office."
- "You think this is hard? Try waterboarding. That's hard!"
- "I'm going to go to the animal shelter, get you a cat, and wait until you've fallen in love with that cat... then I'm going to break into your house in the middle of the night, and punch you in the face."

I have already admitted to my crush on Mr. Schuester, but now it's your turn to fall for him too.
If you haven't seen the show, you have a couple days to catch up on previous episodes before the rest of the season airs.

Thoughts on kids

I'm babysitting right now. I've been here for almost a week and I've got another week to go. A fortnight is a long time to be in charge. Luckily these boys are pretty easy going and like to go do some fun stuff. So far this week we've accomplished a movie, bowling, going to an indoor swimming pool, watching Transformers 1 & 2 and many hours spent on something that looks like a gameboy but is apparently much more advanced. Tonight we decided to stay in. I asked the boys what they wanted to do and they wrote this list:

#4 was accomplised easily ;). Now we are sitting here watching Alvin & the Chipmunks.

Watching kids is hard work. My hat is off to all you mom's who do it 24/7.

I look forward to having kids of my own in the way distant future, but after a long day of cooking, cleaning & entertaining, I'll gladly keep my independence for just a little bit longer.

Happy Birthday, Shacklyn.

Today is my sister's 21st Birthday. In honor of that here are 21 things you may or may not know about Jacqueline.
1. We have our own secret language. We can say 'homeboy industries', 'HTM', 'awkward', 'He was black. Celebrity' and know exactly what the other is trying to say without having to actually say anything and being politically correct.
2. She secretly (or not so secretly) wishes that she was a Disney princess.
3. She calls her black bug the 'Black Pearl'. (She may not be the most aware driver in the world).
4. She loves that Lady Gaga and is always ready for a dance party.
5. She doesn't really like to wake up in the mornings.
6. Within minutes of meeting someone, that person is Jac's new 'best friend'. She has A LOT of friends.
7. She has crushes on Chris Carrabba, the red head guy from Harry Potter, Ricky Bobby, and the Male Model (off & on).
8. She sends a lot of text messages.
9. Her room is decorated really fancily. It may or may not always be clean.
10. One time we took an online class together in college. I ended up doing most of the work and in return she did stuff for me.
11. One time I hired her as my personal assistant... That didn't work out so well.
12. Once when we were driving down to California she may have eaten an entire box of chocolate donuts. Homegirl loves a 'donie party'.
13. I potty trained Jacqueline. You're welcome.
14. Jac had the 'cutest' froggy voice when she was younger.
15. I have been on many roadtrips with Jacqueline. I like to refer to her as my 'co-pilot'.
16. I like to tell Jacko that I have better eyebrows and better teeth than her. In reality they're pretty much the exact same.
17. I like to call Jac early in the morning on the way to work and sing her Donny Osmond's version of 'Mary, did you know?'. I know she very much enjoys this.
18. Jac has a very artistic eye. I think she could be a professional 'photo-grapher' when she grows up.
19. Jac works on Splash Mountain at Disneyland. She aspires to also work at Pirates of the Caribbean. (She has been known to sing songs while doing crowd control for parades.)
20. Now that she is 21 she has reached the legal drinking age (naughty business). I enjoy having a 'cocktail' with Jacqueline and lounging around.
21. I am very glad that she is my sister and I love her lots.

Wanna come over for dinner?

I've been a bad blogger. I know. It's just that I've had a lot going on. My madre still has a cast on her arm. Yes, it's her 3rd one and she'll probably have to have a 4th. Between work and helping out around the house I don't have much time for anything else. Not that I'm complaining, but at least it makes it sound like I haven't completely abandoned this little old blog. (I did however ditch Twitter. I was just over to it.)

Anyway. I've been trying to help out with cooking and such. I added a bunch of foodie blogs to my Google reader and if a recipe comes up that looks yummy and not too hard I'll make it. Here's a few of the things I've tried recently:

*These were yummy but mine looked 'nothing' like the picture. They were a gooey HTM.

*I 'love' salad, but this was not as great as I thought it would be.

*These are so good and so much easier to make than cookies.

*I've made this a few times and changed it slightly. It's good no matter what you add.

*This was even better than what they serve at the restaurant. You can just call me Julia Child.

I think I am going to try to find a recipe for Carrabba's chicken marsala and garlic mashed potatoes.

What food blogs do you read?
