To My BFF in Tennessee:

This is totally church appropriate.  Thank you muchas gracias for your tape.  You should be getting an oh most wondeful Christmas package on Wednesday.  (Save the slacker jokes for later.)  And you're totally not even going to believe how smart I am when you get a CD in the mail next time.  Boo yah.  Ok.  Peace like a river.  (For real?)

(This is our fav, Mr. Stevens, singing 'Come Thou fount of Every Blessing'.  Very luxury.)

Winter Wonderland.

Jason Mraz + Christmas music = a very happy girl

A very Basker Christmas.

On the last day of my trip to Cali, Gavin Basker had a Christmas performance.  He was a little shy at first and did not want to stay with his preschool teacher, but he put on his Santa hat and faced the spotlight.  I hope that my kids are just as adorable as this little fella.
The young gentleman standing next to Mr. Basker started to cause trouble half way through the performance.  Luckily Gavin told him that there was no naughty business allowed.

(Sorry this video is flipped)

P.S.  You're welcome X-tina.

I'm textually active.

First off, big thanks to Elayna for the wonderful blog title.  Thanks for being such  a great friend and an even better study buddy!!!!  (I'm sure your grades will be fantastic!)

So, when you make bad decisions and live in Utah, you have to drive in the snow during the winter.  This is rather unluxury.  So, when I came back from Cali late Monday night it was blizzarding (haha, I know it's not a word) and it has continued to do so ever since.  I had to work up in the SLC on Tuesday morning and I took me over 2 hours to get to work because of the darn snow.  (I didn't want to say darn there, but it's naughty business to say the other word.)

Yesterday morning my commute was fine, thank goodness, but this morning was just as bad as Tuesday.  It took me an hour and 45 minutes to drive from my house to my office.  That is highly unluxury.  Next week I might just have to leave at like 4 in the morning and hope that I'll get to work on time.

Warning, here will start my rant.  WHY do people in little tiny cars always drive like maniacs when it is snowing??  It is usually like a Geo Metro that will just go flying by you in the midst of a blizzard.  It's like, dude, I know you don't have 4-wheel drive.  What are you thinking????? This drives me absolutely insane.  Plus, I don't understand why cars without 4-wheel drive aren't mandated to stay out of the fast lane on snowy days.  If they would all just stick to the right side of the road then I could go faster and get to work quicker.  Come on people!

Ok, also I just wanted everyone to know how wonderful I am.  This morning when I got onto the freeway and noticed that it was crawling (15 mph) I could have very well hopped into the car pool lane and been on my way.  I vacillated with this for a good 20 minutes before I decided that I would be a good, honorable person and stay in the the regular lane.

It's a good thing I chose the right, because within the next few minutes I saw THREE UHP officers driving in the old car pool lane.  (Why they are allowed to drive in that lane when they only have 1 person in their car is unbeknownst to me!)

Lessons learned:  Have 4-wheel drive and CTR.

Domestication.

One day when I was in California my Life Coach and her executive assistant had a wedding to attend.  I stayed at home with the Baskers.  Haydan was rummaging through the cupboards and found a sugar cookie mix thingy and immediately proposed that we stop what we were doing (watching the Polar Express for the third time) and bake.  Haydan was a little nervous about my ability to roll the dough (So was I!), but everything turned out fine and we had a very fun, Christmasy night!
Bernic lost a tooth the night before I came, but she waited to put it under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy until I had seen it.
This young gentleman kept telling me that he was keeping an eye on me.  Mainly because I put away his "Pola Espwess" train when he was not done playing with it.
Gavin Basker was more interested in eating his cookies than decorating them.  He likes to have a little medicine (aka Chocolate milk) along with his cookies.
Haydan decorated a reindeer and multiple Baby Jesus cookies (which were mistaken for Girl Scouts!).
Bronte decorated many fancy cookies.  She also used almost a whole container of sprinkles.  She's my kind of gal.

Just remember: "Brainiac rhymes with maniac".

I'm sorry I've been such a lousy blogger lately. Really, I am. I've just been really busy doing more important things. I'm down in my favorite state right now visiting my life coach. (It's very important for everyone to have a life coach and to consult with them often.) I've already learned a lot of important life lessons this week, and more are certainly to come.

I also had my interview at Loma Linda University yesterday. I think it went really well, and I would LOVE to go to dental school there. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Ok, that's all the time I have right now. I'm a very busy person. I'll blog again later.

P.S. Dear Anonymous/Brendon,
You'll probably read this before you get your package in the mail. So, I'm very sorry that I am such a horrible BFF, but I promise to be better at writing!!!! It'll be my New Year's resolution.

Much Ado about nothing.

It has been brought to my attention (thanks, Jackie) that I have been rather neglectful of my blog this week.  I apologize.  I've just been busy doing a lot of this:
I love my job, and I ADORE the people that I work with, but working in SLC means that I'm out the door my 6:20 in the morning and that I don't get home until almost 7 at night.  When you do this 4 days in a row, it makes you a bit tired.  And, pretty much everything else gets pushed to the back of my brain, including blogging.  Throw in the whole cell phone situation and that pretty much explains no blogging for a week.

But, enough of that.  Let me amuse you now.

So, sometimes I like to fall asleep listening to my iPod (which is built into my iPhone).  I'll put on a little Michael Buble and before I know it I'm asleep.  The only problem is, I still have the headphones in my ears, and the music is still playing.  This happened last night.  I kept waking up and hearing Mr. Buble's amazing voice, but in my sleep-induced trance I couldn't figure out how to take the headphones out or how to turn the music off.  This kept happening till almost 5 in the morning when I finally realized what was going on and put the iPhone away.  So, my ? for you is:  Is this normal?  Do other people do this too?  Or, am I just weird?  (Don't answer that last one!)

Lesson learned:  don't fall asleep while listening to your iPod.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO upset right now it's not even funny.  So, 2 months ago I quit my Cricket cell phone service and signed on with AT&T since they have international plans (I am moving abroad you know!).  Everything has been fine, I have LOVED my iPhone, but then today around noon I started getting calls from random #'s that I've never seen before.  I was working so I didn't pay too much attention to it, but then after work I realized that there were like 12 different #'s that had tried to call me that afternoon.  I also noticed that I hadn't gotten a text message since the morning.  Then, I called my mom and she was like 'why did you just send me a text that said holla back'??  I was like I didn't, and I checked and I haven't sent her a text in over a week.  RANDOM.  So I start thinking about it and I think that my # must 'somehow' be crossed with someone else's.  So, I call AT&T, and they were very nice and helpful, but they had NO clue how this might have happened.  They did however offer to change my #, but I wasn't too keen on that.

So, then I'm almost home and I get a call from another random #, so I answer it and it's a guy who tells me that his brother went into Cricket to get a new cell phone today and that my # was the # they gave him.  Confused yet??  So, all of our calls and texts have been getting switched.  UGH.  So, I call Cricket, and after about 10 transfers I finally get through to a girl who knows what to do but tells me that the department in charge of this kind of stuff is closed until the morning.  I POLITELY tell her that that is unacceptable and that the problem needs to be resolved IMMEDIATELY.  After being on hold for about 40 minutes and talking to 2 different supervisors, I FINALLY convince them to cut off service to the new guys #.

So, where am I going with this you might ask.  I just wanted to let all of you know that if you texted or called me today and thought that I was ignoring you by not responding I was doing no such thing.  I love you all very much and I would never do that to you.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

(At least it makes for good blogging material, right.)  I will now go take a bunch of Advil.
